The Hand of Camille is a reflection on the often invisible labour that comprises art and exhibition making. Reflecting on Brown’s own work as an artist, her work history as a preparator and artist assistant as well as the historical example of Camille Claudel, this exhibition reinserts the body attached to the hand that produces.

VANESSA BROWN works in sculpture, painting and photography and is based in Vancouver on unceded Coast Salish Territories (CST). She graduated with a BFA from Emily Carr University in 2013 and was the recipient of the Chancellor’s Award. She has exhibited in Canada, Germany, and the USA. She is represented by Wil Aballe Art Projects.
